Know Before You Go – How Our Process Works

For foreigners, understanding how the medical care process works in a Thai government hospital can be challenging. Our Travel Clinic operates under Patong Hospital, so some procedures may still be conservative.

We strive to make everything straightforward and hassle-free for you. Here is a guideline to help you navigate our system:

Please read this guide for directions on how to get to our clinic.

At the Main Entrance of Patong Hospital:
Here’s what you need to do once you arrive:

Entrance and Parking:

When you arrive at the hospital, you will see a large sign for Patong Hospital. Park your vehicle in the designated area and walk to the main hospital building.

Screening Counter:

At the entrance of the main building, you will see the screening counter (Counter 1). Inform the staff that you would like to visit the Travel Clinic. If you booked an online appointment, follow the same procedure.

Travel Clinic Card:

You will receive a blue paper card named “Travel Clinic” from the staff. If you do not receive it, please reconfirm with the staff.

Registration Counter:

Proceed to the registration counter (Counter 2) where you need to apply for a hospital ID card. English forms are provided. Submit your passport and the application form to receive your hospital ID card. Note that the card is only available in Thai, but your name and other information will be typed in English.

Nurse Station:

Next, walk to the nearby nurse station where a nurse will check your vital signs and take some important medical history. If there is a nurse aide available, they will escort you to the new building where the Travel Clinic is located.

At the Travel Clinic:

If you made an online appointment, you will be assigned to see the doctor at your scheduled time.
If you did not make an advance appointment, you may have to wait if there are online appointments ahead of you.
